China continues increasing the imports of Ukrainian flour
In November Ukraine showed the record monthly index for the exports of wheat flour, which totaled 23.8 thsd tonnes - the maximum index for the reporting month. Analysis of the geography of flour exports shows that nearly 33% of flour (7.8 thsd tonnes) was supplied to China, while in November 2012 Ukraine did not exported the commodity to the Eastern country.
Since the beginning of 2013/14 MY (during the period of July-November) Ukraine exported 88.7 thsd tonnes of wheat flour, up 6% compared with the exports in the same period of 2012/13 MY (83.3 thsd tonnes). At the same time, in the current season China received nearly 20% of the flour volumes exported from Ukraine, or 17.8 thsd tonnes, while during the same period last season the share of Ukrainian flour supplies to the country did not exceed 1%, which totaled 695 tonnes.
