Russia has the high potential of agricultural commodities exports – N.Fedorov
The indicators of January-November of 2013 showed that the Russian agro-industrial complex keeps the high potential of agricultural commodities exports, declared Nikolai Fedorov, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on December 16.
The Minister noted that in general, the exports of Russian agricultural commodities in January- November period decreased by 9% compared with the same period of 2012 - to 14 bln USD. However, N.Fedorov explained the decline was caused by the entry of Russia to the WTO.
According to him, the reporting decrease of 9% for 11 months is not a decrease at all, but maintaining of the high growth potential of the agricultural sector of the Russian Federation.
As for the dynamics of agricultural exports, N.Fedorov reported that during 11 months of the current year the exports of maize from Russia increased by 12%, rapeseed oil – up 1.6 times, soybean oil - up 8%.
At the same time, in January-November the export volumes of Russian sunflower oil decreased by 19%, and rice – down 59%.
