Kazakhstan increased agricultural commodities production by 11%
In January-November period of 2013 the general production of agricultural commodities in the Republic of Kazakhstan exceeded the same period last year by 10.9%, and totaled 2.3 trln KZT, informed the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
According to the announcement, the reporting growth was primarily provided by plant growing sector, which production volumes increased by nearly 20%.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, in the current year Kazakh agrarians harvested 20.9 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight with the yield of 1.33 t/ha, up 0.36 t/ha compared with last year. At the same time, the general grain harvest in clean weight is forecasted at 18.5 mln tonnes, up 5.6 mln tonnes (or 43%) compared with last year, which is quite sufficient for provision of the domestic requirements of the country and its export potential of 9 mln tonnes, informed the Ministry.
