In December 2013 the volume of grain exports through the deep-sea ports Russia totaled 1.35 mln tonnes, which became second only to the record index in December 2011 (1.7 mln tonnes), informed Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic marketing department of CJSC Rusagrotrans.

He also noted that the index significantly exceeds the result of the same month in 2012 - 544 thsd tonnes.

According to the expert, the general volume of grain exports in December 2013 totaled 2.1 mln tonnes, while the share of the ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse rose to 54%, against 39% in November 2013.

At the same time, in January 2014 the market should expect for some slowdown in the exports of Russian grains - 1.2-1.3 mln tonnes. By the end of December the applications for grain shipment through the deep-sea ports of Russia in January totaled 434 thsd tonnes only, said I.Pavensky.
