Russia: grain exports exceeded 16 mln tonnes - Ministry of Agriculture
Since the beginning of the current season (July 1, 2013), and as of January 9, 2014, the general exports of Russian grains already reached the level of 16.384 mln tonnes, up 25.3% compared with the same period of 2012/13 MY (13.077 mln tonnes). In particular, the export volumes included 12.559 mln tonnes of wheat, 1.958 mln tonnes of barley, 1.683 mln tonnes of maize, 184 thsd tonnes of other grains, announced the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on January 13, referring to operative data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
According to the announcement, in December 2013 Russia exported 2.433 mln tonnes of grains, including 1.543 mln tonnes of wheat, 137 thsd tonnes of barley, 682 thsd tonnes of maize, 71 thsd tonnes of other grains.
