In January 2014 the exports of Russian grains will halve compared with the previous month - to 1-1.1 mln tonnes, announced Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic marketing department of CJSC Rusagrotrans, on January 15.

According to the experts, recent decreasing of the competitiveness of Russian grains on the world market will also influence the reporting decline of the export volumes.

Under the reporting conditions, on January 1-13 the volume of foreign supplies of Russian grains were estimated at 250-300 thsd tonnes.

As a result, Rusagrotrans reduced its estimation of the export volumes in January to 1-1.1 mln tonnes, as opposed to the estimations made in December at 1.2-1.3 mln tonnes. The volume of transshipment through the deep-sea ports of Novorossiysk, Tuapse and Taman may reach nearly 681 thsd tonnes, down 2 times compared with December 2013, summed I.Pavensky.
