According to the customs statistics, in July-December period of 2013/14 MY Russia exported 160.2 thsd tonnes of chickpeas on foreign markets, up 8% compared with the same period of the previous season, which became the record result for the reporting period during 5 recent years.
As in the previous season, Turkey and India were the main buyers of Russian chickpeas in the reporting period - 57% and 24% of the export volumes, respectively.
The export rates provide that until the end of 2013/14 MY Russia will break a new record in terms of the crop exports. Thus, the index of the first half of the season almost reached the record results of 2012/13 MY, when Russia exported 167.5 thsd tonnes of chickpeas.
