Kyrgyzstan plans to continue operating the protective duties on the imports of wheat flour, reported the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a reminder, on June 27, 2013, the Ministry imposed the import duties on wheat flour for a period of 7 months.
The introduction of the customs duties provided positive results. According to the Committee of flour milling enterprises of Kyrgyzstan, the production growth of domestic flour milling enterprises totaled 42%. The production of wheat bran totaled 93.673 thsd tonnes, the prices for mixed feed decreased from 10 KGS/kg to 5 KGS/kg. Such measures provided substantial support to the poultry and livestock industries, explained the Ministry of Economy.
