In 2013 the share of agricultural products in the general exports of commodities from the country totaled nearly 27%, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on January 31.

Traditionally, agricultural products occupy the considerable share in the foreign trade of Ukraine. And it is the only sector of the economy of Ukraine, which has a trade surplus. In 2013 it totaled 8.8 bln USD, he said.

According to him, the export volumes of grains became the most important factors of the foreign trade surplus of agricultural commodities exports - nearly 34%, sunflower oil - almost 20%, and oilseeds - over 11%.

The largest volumes of domestic agricultural commodities were supplied to Asian countries - over 34% of the general agricultural exports. At the same time, the European Union covered over 27% of the exports, and the CIS countries - over 21%, said N.Prysyazhnyuk.
