Kazakhstan exported 5.3 mln tonnes of grains

Since July 1, 2013, Kazakhstan already exported 5.3 mln tonnes of grains, an increase of 25% compared with the same period last season, declared Asylzhan Mamytbekov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on February 5.

According to him, in the current MY the expected grain export volumes will total 9 mln tonnes, up 26% compared with last MY.

According to him, since October 2013 the monthly export volumes totaled more than 1 mln tonnes of grains and flour in grain equivalent, up 33% compared with the same period last season.

Thus, in order to achieve the forecasted volume of 9 mln tonnes, until July 1 the country should export 3.7 mln tonnes of grains, which is quite realistic, A.Mamytbekov added.

According to the Minister, in January-November of 2013 the export volume of agricultural commodities was estimated at 2.4 bln USD, up 27% compared with the average index for 2009-2011. During 11 months of 2013, the exports to countries of the Customs Union increased by 65%, compared with the same period of 2012.
