Ukraine: increasing of purchasing prices for grains - Ministry of Agrarian Policy
Ukraine showed some increasing of purchasing prices for grains, which was supported by the measures taken by the Government, in particular forward purchases of 2 mln tonnes of grains by the state operators (Agrarian Fund and State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine), declared Vitaly Sabluk, Director of the department of agrarian market development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on February 7.
According to him, to date traders actively realize export shipments of domestic grains, thereby increasing the profitability of its production. The high export potential confirms the competitiveness of domestic grains on the global market. In particular, the measures taken by the Government to improve functioning of the grain market and optimize its logistics function, contributed to the trend development, he said.
V.Sabluk stressed that Ukraine started the current grain year with the minimum beginning stocks on the market, and the maximum rates of export shipments.
