In 2013 Russia reduced grain exports by 15% - Rosstat
In 2013 Russia reduced grain export volumes by 15.3% compared with the previous year - to 19.035 mln tonnes, reported the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) on February 20.
According to the announcement, in 2013 there was observed a decrease of foreign supplies of almost all major grains: wheat and meslin - down 13.9%, to 13.796 mln tonnes, barley - down 31.8%, to 2.325 mln tonnes, rice - down 53.9%, to 168 thsd tonnes.
At the same time, in the reporting year the export volumes of Russian maize increased by 18.3% compared with the index of 2012 - to 2.599 mln tonnes.
As for the export volumes of other plant growing commodities from Russia, in 2013 the volume of foreign supplies of wheat and wheat-rye flour decreased by 27.5 % - to 116 thsd tonnes, sunflower seed - down 71.9% to 77.6 thsd tonnes.
