Ukraine: agrarian sector to remain strategic in the economy – N.Prysyazhnyuk
Under any conditions the agrarian sector will remain one of the basic and strategic ones in the Ukrainian economy, acting as the guarantor of food security of the country, announced Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on February 21.
During several recent years Ukraine achieved rather significant growth in agricultural commodities production, founded the solid foundation for further development of the domestic agrarian sector, he said.
According N.Prysyazhnyuk, domestic agricultural producers completely ensure consumers with all necessary food commodities. At the same time, Ukraine already became one of the major suppliers of agricultural products on the world market.
Ukraine became a reliable partner on the international market. During 4 years the country reached grain production at the level of 63 mln tonnes, and entered the TOP-3 of leading grain exporters in the world. Also, in the current year Ukraine occupied the 9th place in the world in chicken exports, summed up the Acting Minister.
