In February 2014 the export volumes of Russian grains may reach 1.15-1.2 mln tonnes, which will vary at the level of the previous month (1.15 mln tonnes), declared Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, on February 26.

According to the expert, in February the shipment volumes of grains through the deep-sea ports of the Russian Federation will reach 1 mln tonnes, which is significantly higher compared with January (626 thsd tonnes).

The sharp decline of grain shipments from small-scale ports of the Azov Sea, and low supply of grains near the terminals of Rostov oblast after active transportation in the summer and autumn of 2013, explain the corresponding growth of supply from the deep-sea ports, which were frozen in early February 2014, said I.Pavensky.

As for grain exports in March 2014, the expert forecasted that due to the dynamics of grain export applications and renewed lowering of RUR/USD exchange rates, it is possible to expect for the growth of grain exports in March to 1.3 mln tonnes, said I.Pavensky.
