Ukraine: in the first week of March maize exports exceeded expectations
According to the monitoring data by experts of APK-Inform Agency, in the period of March 3 -9, 2014, the volume of grain export shipments from the sea ports of Ukraine reached the level of 486.8 thsd tonnes, against 573.4 thsd tonnes in the previous week. In particular, in the reporting period the exports of wheat made up 6.1 thsd tonnes, maize – 480.7 thsd tonnes.
It is worth noting that in the reporting period the general share of Odessa Commercial Sea Port and the group of terminals TIS were the largest one in the structure of companies shipping Ukrainian grains on the world market – 82%. The Odessa port shipped 288.3 thsd tonnes of maize, and the terminals TIS - 110 thsd tonnes of the grain.
