Next week the European Union will take new decisions on provision of the emergency macro-financial aid to Ukraine, which will enhance the sum to 1.6 bln EUR, declared José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, on March 12.

Previously, the Head of the European Commission said that the EU is ready to extend nearly 500 mln EUR worth of trade benefits to Ukraine, removing duties on a wide range of agricultural goods, textiles and other imports in an effort to support the Ukrainian economy.

"It is a package designed to assist a committed, inclusive and reforms-oriented Ukrainian government. The package combined could bring an overall support of at least 11 billion euros ($15 billion) over the next couple of years," said J.M.Barroso.
