Ukraine: SC Avlita redirects the grain exports to Borivage

According to the data of APK-Inform, on March 21, 2014 the grain shipping complex Borivage received 4 trucks with corn from SC Avlita (Sevastopol') by confirming previously received information on the resending of the Crimean exports of grain to the ports of Odessa.

Note in 2012/13 MY the Crimean grain shipments totaled 7.5% from the total Ukrainian grain exports or 1.7 mln tonnes. Meanwhile the share of Avlita totaled 80% of all the Crimean shipments.

As for the main part of grain exports, in 2012/13 MY Odessa ports supplied nearly 58.5% of the total exports of the stated products, Nikolayev and Kherson Oblasts – 31%, Azov sea ports (Berdyansk and Mariupol MTP) nearly 3%. Besides by March 20, 2014 the shipments from Odessa ports grew to 16.7 mln tonnes as opposed to 12.9 mln tonnes in the previous season.

Meanwhile according to the press-service of the SE Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority the vessels have free pass through the Kerch Strait to the Berdyansk and Mariupol MTP.
