As of March 31, Russia planted spring crops throughout over 1 mln ha
As of March 31, 2014, agrarians of Russia already provided spring planting works throughout the areas of 1.1 mln ha (2.1% of the forecast), an increase of 602 thsd ha compared with the same date in 2013, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, agrarians planted spring grains throughout 913.9 thsd ha (2.9% of the forecast), up 542.6 thsd ha compared with March 31, 2013.
The Southern Federal District provided spring planting works throughout 425.6 thsd ha (6.7% of the forecast), the North Caucasian Federal District - 289.4 thsd ha (17.8% of the forecast), the Central Federal District - 414 7 thsd ha (4.4% of the forecast), Primorsky and Khabarovsk Krais - 2.2 thsd ha (0.6% of the forecast) and 0.6 thsd ha (0.9% of the forecast) respectively, Kaliningrad oblast - 1.3 thsd ha (1.5% of the forecast).
In addition, agrarians of Krasnodar Krai started planting sunflower seed - 5.6 thsd ha (1.3% of the forecast).
Agricultural commodity producers of Kursk oblast started planting spring rapeseed, the planted areas already reached 1 thsd ha.
