According to the monitoring data of APK-Inform Agency, in February 2014 in Ukraine the mid-market price for maize totaled 1340 UAH/t, and as of March 28, 2014 — 1638 UAH/t. At the same time, in February 2014 the closing price of maize futures totaled 463.4 c/bushel, and as of March 28, 2014 — 495 c/bushel.
According to the forecast of APK-Inform, in April 2014 there will be observed the price increase for maize futures to the level of 530 USD/t, up 7% compared with the rate of March 2014. Therefore, on the physical market there will be an increase of maize domestic prices as well. Thus, in April 2014 the mid-market price for maize will reach 1638 UAH/t.
