EBRD to provide 350 mln EUR for Ukraine
On April 8, 2014 the board of directors of the EBRD approved two Ukrainian projects funding at the amount of 350 mln EUR. The Bank is ready to increase the volume and extend the investments scale in the country, including the necessary technical support.
The first of the stated two projects is framework financing program at the amount of 150 mln EUR for the current bank customers support in the real Ukrainian economic sector. The program will help the Ukrainian companies to meet the demand for the liquidity and floating assets, and also pass over the difficulties and limitations, caused by the financial crisis and the foreign financing availability decrease. The financing will provide the renew of foreign and domestic investors assurance and their willing for the new Ukrainian projects realization.
The Bank will resume the state sector provision with credit, but only after the agreement signing of Ukraine and EBRD on the macroeconomic stabilization program. This is the preliminary condition of disbursement of a tranche at the amount of 200 mln EUR.
EBRD is one of the biggest financing investors of Ukraine. As of April 1, 2014 the bank incurred the obligations for the provision of 326 projects at the amount of 8.9 bln EUR.
