Russia doubled feed wheat exports to Mexico
According to data of the official statistics, in 2013/14 MY Russia significantly increased export supplies of feed wheat to Mexico. It should be noted that since the beginning of the season-2013/14, and as of April 1, 2014, the share of Russia in the general imports of the grain to the country reached 4%, or 177.31 thsd tonnes, against 88 thsd tonnes in 2012/13 MY.
The reporting increase of feed wheat exports was primarily caused by rising of the demand for such grain in Mexico, since it is widely used as an alternative crop for maize in the processes of mixed feed production. In 2013/14 MY the general imports of wheat to Mexico may reach 4.3 mln tonnes (3.82 mln tonnes).
