According to the operative statistics data, in the period of April 1-22, 2014, Ukraine exported nearly 1.1 mln tonnes of maize, an increase of 49% compared with the same period in 2013 (0.72 mln tonnes). Thus, despite the impact of so-called "Ukrainian crisis" on the grain trading rates, the country kept rather stable export flows of maize.

Generally, since the beginning of 2013/14 MY and as of April 22, Ukraine already exported over 16.4 mln tonnes of maize, up 56% compared with October-April period of 2012/13 MY (10.5 mln tonnes). According to analysts of APK-Inform Agency, the export potential of maize in 2013/14 MY totals 19.3 mln tonnes. Therefore, during the remaining five months of the season Ukraine will export a little less than 3 mln tonnes of the grain, which completely meets the current dynamics of export shipments.
