Ukraine completed the early spring crops' planting campaign
As of the April 28, 2014 agrarians of Ukraine had already planted spring grains and legumes (including maize) throughout the areas of 4.7 mln ha, or 56% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, the early spring crops' planting campaign is completed, the planted areas reached 2.6 mln ha.
As of the reported date the maize planted areas totaled 2.07 mln ha (40% of the forecast), buckwheat – 6 thsd ha (4%), rapeseed – 12 thsd ha (10%), rice – 2 thsd ha (9%).
The agrarians had already planted sunflower and soybean throughout the areas of 2.64 mln ha (61%) and 350 thsd ha (21%) respectively.
