Russia: buckwheat exports reached record rates
According to the official statistics data, during 8 months of 2013/14 MY (August-March) Russia already exported 27.3 thsd tonnes of buckwheat, which is significantly higher compared with the entire 2012/13 MY (8.1 thsd tonnes), and 2011/12 MY (2.5 thsd tonnes).
Also, it should be noted that the index of the current season broke the record (the previous maximum was observed during 8 months of the season-2006/07, and totaled 13.1 thsd tonnes).
The structure of Russian buckwheat exports in August-March included 52% (14.1 thsd tonnes) of the grain supplied to Ukraine, and another 33% (9 thsd tonnes) - to Lithuania.
