Ukraine: April rate of inflation totaled 3.3%
In April, 2014 the customer price index for commodities and services reached 103.3%, compared to the rate of the previous month. At the same time, in the period of January-April, 2014 the rate of inflation reached 6.4%, declared the State Statistics Service of Ukraine on May 6, 2014.
In the reported month, Ukraine faced the food commodities' prices increase of 4.2%.
The prices highest growth (14.3%) was faced by vegetables, in particular green cabbage – in 2.1 times, onion – by 27.5%, tomatoes – 21.6%, carrot – 14.6%. The prices for fruit grew by 13.5%, including bananas – 22.8%, citrus fruit – 9.7%, apples – 6.5%. The prices for rice, sugar, fish and its products, grain by-products, meat and its products rose by 7.5-3.4%. The soft drinks, macaroni products, bread, sun oil, margarine and fermented milk products faced the prices rise of 2.6-1.5%. At the same time, there was the price growth for eggs of 7.6%.
