Since May 7, 2014, all non-cash transactions in the Crimea are realized in the official currency of Russia only, declared Rustam Temirgaliev, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Crimea.

Due to the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine on discontinuation of operations of Ukrainian banks at the peninsula, any ability to provide UAH turnover becomes impossible, said R.Temirgaliev.

According to him, the Crimean economy will not experience any problems due to actions of the National Bank of Ukraine. UAH in cash will be used in the region for nearly one month.

R.Temirgaliev specified that to date 207 departments of Russian banks are already operating in the Crimea, another 51 offices will be opened in the nearest future.
