As of May 16, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine already planted spring grains and pulses (taking into account maize) throughout the areas of 7.417 mln ha, or 89% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
At the same time, on the same date last year Ukraine planted grains and pulses throughout 7.978 mln ha.
In particular, Ukraine planted maize throughout 4.582 mln ha (89%), buckwheat – 90 thsd ha (53%), millet – 68 thsd ha (56%), rice – 7 thsd ha (33%).
Also, sunflower seed planted areas reached 4.127 mln ha (95%), soybeans – 1.475 mln ha (90%).
