As of May 20, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine already planted spring grains and pulses (taking into account maize) throughout the areas of 7.518 mln ha, or 90% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
At the same time, on the same date last year Ukraine planted grains and pulses throughout 8.049 mln ha.
In particular, Ukraine planted maize throughout 4.643 mln ha (90%), buckwheat – 104 thsd ha (62%), millet – 79 thsd ha (65%), rice – 8 thsd ha (36%).
Also, sunflower seed planted areas reached 4.228 mln ha (98%), soybeans – 1.54 mln ha (93%).
