Russia exported over 24 mln tonnes of grains
Since the beginning of 2013/14 MY (July 1, 2013), and as of May 21, 2014, Russia already exported 24.104 mln tonnes of grains, an increase of 61.7% compared with the same date in 2013 (14.9 mln tonnes), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation referring to operative data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
According to the announcement, wheat formed 17.63 mln tonnes of the reporting volume, barley – 2.403 mln tonnes, maize – 3.768 mln tonnes, other grain crops - 303 thsd tonnes.
In the period of May 1-21 the Russian grain exports totaled 1.132 mln tonnes, including 796 thsd tonnes of wheat, 274 thsd tonnes of maize, 45 thsd tonnes of barley, and 16 thsd tonnes of other grains.
