In June Russia may reduce grain export volumes – Rusagrotrans
In the beginning of 2014/15 MY the rates of Russian grain exports may sharply fall, declared Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, on May 28.
According to the expert, the trend is caused by price disparity on the domestic market for grains of both old and new harvest, which does not allow to export companies to purchase the required grain volumes at attractive prices.
When the price difference reaches 26 USD/t, and the domestic prices continue rising, the exporters will keep rather low trading activity due to the absence of grain supply on the domestic market at reasonable prices, said the expert.
According to I.Pavensky, in June 2014 Russia will be able to supply 0.5-0.6 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets only, as opposed to 1.4 mln tonnes, expected in May 2014. At the same time, next month companies-exporters will be forced to completely switch to working with new crop grains.
