Ukrainian flour to enter the Chinese market – expert
To date the market of one of the world largest importers of wheat flour - China - is actually closed for the Ukrainian product, informed Sergyi Sakirkin, Director of the grain processing department of PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, during his speech within the thirteenth international conference "Grain Forum - 2014: New Markets, Challenges and Opportunities" in Odessa.
The certification procedure for exports of grain by-products to China is very complex, and to date Ukraine is dealing with this issue. The same volumes of Ukrainian flour which were shipped to the Chinese ports according to the customs documents, eventually came on the market of North Korea, said the expert.
Also, he stressed that the Government should actively promote for opening of the Chinese market for Ukrainian exporters of flour.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine should pay special attention to the issue, said S.Sakirkin, adding the need for "mutual responsibility between participants of the grain market, which will ensure its effective operation and further development”.
