In five years Ukraine may double grain production – O.Bakhmatyuk
According to Oleg Bakhmatyuk, Chairman of the Board of the company UkrLandFarming, in five years Ukraine can double the production volumes of grains, declared the press-service of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation on June 27.
He noted that Ukraine should set one task only - to double the level of grain production in five years. The country requires 40-45 bln USD of investments to realize the plan.
According to him, such results will allow to Ukraine to create the so-called grain OPEC jointly with the USA, and dictate grain prices to the whole world.
O.Bakhmatyuk noted that in order to achieve the goal, Ukraine needs to find new sales markets, for example Iran, to found the "comfort zone" for investors through realizing of reforms within six months, and to create own stock exchanges within nine months, to create the real insurance market, to develop new investment projects, because to date both the IMF, the World Bank and the EBRD, and a number of other institutions are planning to invest in development of the economy of Ukraine.
