Ukraine to fail to join the Customs Union – S.Glazyev
The Customs Union lost Ukraine as the possible member after signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, declared Sergey Glazyev, Economic advisor to the President of Russia, on June 30.
According to him, the Customs Union faces the biggest problems concerning the reporting signing of the association agreements between the EU and Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, on June 27 in Brussels. Actually, the EU put the stiff barrier to the further expansion of integration of the Customs Union in the western direction, said S.Glazyev.
According to him, the Association Agreement directly affects the interests of the Russian Federation and the prospects of cooperation with the above-mentioned three countries. Within frames of the association agreements Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia delegated some of their sovereignty to the European Commission. It means that they are not able to become members of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space in future, explained the official.
