Ukraine: GDP rate to decrease by 6.5%

The International Monetary Fund worsened its forecast on Ukrainian GDP reduction to 6.5%, as opposed to the previous one of 5%, declared the Head of IMF mission in Ukraine, Nikolay Georgiev on July 18, 2014.

N.Georgiev stated the programs and rates execution was realized under the complicated conditions, due to the conflict escalation in the Eastern regions of Ukraine. Under the stated situation it was necessary to reconsider the range of key macro-economic rates.

Earlier the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Oleksandr Shlapak declared the forecast of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the GDP reduction at the level of 6-5.5%.

Remind, that in May, 2014 the IMF stated the Ukrainian GDP rate will decrease by 5%.
