Anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk oblast caused the harvest losses. In particular, two wheat fields was destroyed by fire, in some regions the stated operation does not allow to start harvesting campaign.
According to the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of July 18, 2014 agrarians of Donetsk oblast had harvested early grains and pulses throughout of 254 thsd ha, or 42% of the total areas. Total grain production reached 866 thsd tonnes with the yield of 3.41 t/ha, including 675 thsd tonnes of winter wheat, 33 thsd tonnes of winter barley and 150 thsd tonnes of spring barley.
