In 2013/14 MY Russia increased barley exports by 20%
According to the official statistics, in 2013/14 MY Russia exported 2.7 mln tonnes of barley, up 20% compared with the season-2012/13, but down 25% compared with the record volumes of 2011/12 MY (3.6 mln tonnes).
According to estimations of APK-Inform analysts, the milling (45% of the general exports of barley) and feed (40%) grain dominated in the sales structure of barley last season. The share of the exported grain for technical purposes totaled 14%, brewing - 1% seeds – 0.1%.
In 2013/14 MY Saudi Arabia and Iran were the main foreign consumers of barley from Russia. It should be noted that the shares of leaders changed compared with the previous season: the first one - 56%, against 46%, the second – 8%, against 26%.
