During 9 months of 2013/14 MY Russia exported the record maize volumes
According to the official statistics, in the first 9 months of 2013/14 MY Russia exported 3.9 mln tonnes of maize, which doubled the results of the whole season-2012/13, and became the record index of seasonal grain exports.
Also, the geography of maize foreign supplies faced some changes in the current season. Thus, in 2012/13 MY Turkey purchased 49% of the maize volumes exported from the Russian Federation, followed by Italy (8%) and Azerbaijan (5%). In the season-2013/14, Turkey kept its leading positions, but its share dropped to 23%. Also, in the first 9 months of the current MY, South Korea (21%), the Netherlands (9%) and Iran (9%) were among the leaders of maize imports from Russia.
