Russia: total wheat production exceeds 60 mln tonnes

According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture or Russia, as of August 14, 2014 Russian agrarians had harvested grains throughout 19.6 mln ha, or 42% of the harvested areas (in 2013 – 49.4 mln tonnes) with the yield at the level of 3.17 t/ha (in 2013 – 2.64 t/ha).

In particular, as of the reported date winter and spring wheat was harvested throughout 12.3 mln ha, or 48.5% of the harvested areas (in 2013 – 11.6 mln ha). There were produced 43.8 mln tonnes of wheat (in 2013 – 34.7 mln tonnes) with the yield of 3.56 t/ha (in 2013 – 3 t/ha).

Winter and spring barley was harvested throughout 4.3 mln ha, or 45.3% of the harvested areas (in 2013 – 257.1 mln ha). Thus, there were produced 12 mln tonnes of grain (in 2013 – 8.4 mln tonnes) with the yield of 2.8 t/ha (in 2013 0 2.21 t/ha).

Also, agrarians of the country harvested rapeseed throughout 285.7 thsd ha, or 23.6% of the harvested sreas (in 2013 – 257.1 thsd ha). There were produced 506.1 thsd tonnes of oilseeds (in 2013 – 434.7 thsd tonnes) with the yield – 1.77 t/hs (in 2013 – 1.69 t/ha).

As of August 14, 2014 sugar beet was harvested throughout 18.9 thsd ha. Agrarians had produced 787.2 thsd tonnes of the beet-roots with the yield of 41.59 t/ha.

Also, Russia agrarians continue to plant winter grains. As of the reported date, planted areas had totaled 53.5 thsd ha (0.3% of the forecast).
