Russia harvested over 71 mln tonnes of grains

As of August 25, Russia harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 24.4 mln ha, or 52.3% of the planned areas (in 2013 – 23.9 mln ha). The produced volumes reached 71.5 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight (in 2013 – 58.5 mln tonnes), with the yield of 2.93 t/ha (in 2013 – 2.45 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 13.6 mln ha, or 53.8% of the harvested areas. The produced volumes totaled 46.2 mln tonnes with the average yield of 3.39 t/ha.

Russia harvested winter and spring barley throughout 6.1 mln ha, or 65% of the planned areas. The produced volumes reached 15.9 mln tonnes with the average yield of 2.59 t/ha.

Agrarians harvested maize for grain throughout 23.1 thsd ha, or 0.8% of the planned areas. The produced volumes reached 129.1 thsd tonnes, with the average yield of 5.59 t/ha.

Russia harvested sunflower seed throughout the areas of 89.1 thsd ha (1.3%). The produced volumes totaled 205.8 thsd tonnes, with the average yield of 2.31 t/ha.

In addition, agrarians harvested winter and spring rapeseed throughout 381.1 thsd ha, or 31.5% of the harvested areas. The production totaled 676.5 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.78 t/ha.

Russia harvested 53.8 thsd tonnes of soybeans throughout 32.3 thsd ha (1.6% of the plan), with the yield of 1.67 t/ha.

Also, agrarians continue the planting campaign of winter grains for the harvest-2015. As of the reporting date, Russia planted winter crops throughout 1.1 mln ha, or 6.4% of the planned areas (in 2013 – 1.6 mln ha).
