In 2014/15 MY Russia to export nearly 30 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agriculture
In 2014/15 MY the export potential and demand for Russian grains on the world market will increase by nearly 23% compared with last season. The reporting factor and the expected grain harvest in the current year at the level of 100 mln tonnes will lead to the record exports in the current season - 27.5-30 mln tonnes, forecasted Alexei Volkov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on August 26.
As for the public purchasing interventions, A.Volkov noted that if in the Asian part of Russia the price level has not reached the point of stabilization yet, since the mass harvesting campaign did not completely cover the regions, the prices in some regions of the European part of the country are very close to the minimum price limits, set by the Ministry of Agriculture for realization of the public purchasing interventions in 2014-2015.
Thus, the Ministry of Agriculture is scheduled to start purchasing grains during the month period, especially 3- and 4-grade wheat. Also, the Ministry will significantly increase the purchasing volumes of feed wheat and barley, stressed the official.
