In September 2014 Russia reduced the volume of grain export shipments through the deep-sea ports. Thus, in the period of September 1-29 the reporting index totaled 1.63 mln tonnes, as opposed to 1.77 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous month. Generally, in September the export shipment may reach 1.74 mln tonnes, against 1.9 mln tonnes in August, declared Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, on September 30.

At the same time, the expert confirmed his previous forecast of grain exports from Russia in September at 3.8 mln tonnes.

As for the forecasts for October 2014, I.Pavensky noted that reduction of the foreign shipments of Russian grains will continue developing, and in the reporting month the index is expected to reach 3 mln tonnes. The export volumes will decrease, due to the continued decline of grain prices on the world market, in terms of the rising domestic prices and reduced export earnings.
