According to operative data as of October 2, Ukraine harvested 42.969 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 11.412 mln ha, or 77% of the planned areas (excluding the Crimea). The average yield totaled 3.76 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry, on the same date in 2013 Ukraine harvested 37.087 mln tonnes of grains throughout 11.202 mln ha, with the average yield of 3.31 t/ha.

Thus, in 2014 agrarians harvested 6.715 mln tonnes of maize for grain throughout 1.446 mln ha (31%), with the average yield of 4.64 t/ha.

Ukrainian agrarians harvested 165 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 118 thsd ha (87% of the planned areas), with the average yield of 1.4 t/ha.

Ukraine harvested 173 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 92 thsd ha (90%). The average yield totaled 1.89 t/ha.

Also, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 7.545 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 4.209 mln ha (82%), with the average yield of 1.79 t/ha.

Ukraine harvested 1.953 mln tonnes of soybeans throughout the areas of 1 mln ha (56%). The average yield of the oilseed totaled 1.95 t/ha.

Agrarians planted winter grains throughout 4.258 mln ha (57%), including winter wheat and triticale – 3.979 mln ha (64%), winter rye – 105 thsd ha (51%), winter barley – 174 thsd ha (16%). In addition, winter rapeseed was planted throughout 803 thsd ha (94% of the plan).
