The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia forecasts some slowdown of the rates of agricultural production growth in the country in 2014 to 2-3.2%, against 5.8% in the previous year, declared the press-service of the Ministry on October 8.
In particular, in the current year the general harvest of grains is forecasted at 104.2 mln tonnes in clean weight.
Such indicators will provide the domestic consumption of grains at the level of 70.3 mln tonnes, and provide an opportunity to increase the grain export potential of Russia in 2014/15 MY to 30 mln tonnes, according to the announcement.
The Ministry forecasted the harvest of oilseed crops in 2014 at 13.4 mln tonnes, against 14.2 mln tonnes in the previous year, including 9.1 mln tonnes of sunflower seed, 1.5 mln tonnes of rapeseed, and 2.2 mln tonnes of soybeans.
