According to operative data as of October 13, Ukraine harvested 48.186 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 12.323 mln ha, or 83% of the planned areas (excluding the Crimea). The average yield totaled 3.91 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry, on the same date in 2013 Ukraine harvested 43.871 mln tonnes of grains throughout 12.382 mln ha, with the average yield of 3.54 t/ha.

Thus, in 2014 agrarians harvested 11.841 mln tonnes of maize for grain throughout 2.324 mln ha (50%), with the average yield of 5.1 t/ha.

Ukrainian agrarians harvested 176 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 127 thsd ha (94% of the planned areas), with the average yield of 1.39 t/ha.

Ukraine harvested 179 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 94 thsd ha (92%). The average yield totaled 1.91 t/ha.

Also, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 8.82 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 4.67 mln ha (91%), with the average yield of 1.89 t/ha.

Ukraine harvested 2.886 mln tonnes of soybeans throughout the areas of 1.38 mln ha (77%). The average yield of the oilseed totaled 2.09 t/ha.

Agrarians planted winter grains throughout 6.298 mln ha (84%), including winter wheat and triticale – 5.561 mln ha (90%), winter rye – 144 thsd ha (70%), winter barley – 593 thsd ha (56%).
