According to operative data as of October 16, Ukraine harvested 50.111 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 12.645 mln ha, or 85% of the planned areas (excluding the Crimea). The average yield totaled 3.96 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry, on the same date in 2013 Ukraine harvested 45.071 mln tonnes of grains throughout 12.596 mln ha, with the average yield of 3.58 t/ha.
Thus, in 2014 agrarians harvested 13.726 mln tonnes of maize for grain throughout 2.636 mln ha (56%), with the average yield of 5.21 t/ha.
Ukrainian agrarians harvested 180 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 129 thsd ha (96% of the planned areas), with the average yield of 1.4 t/ha.
Ukraine harvested 182 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 94 thsd ha (94%). The average yield totaled 1.92 t/ha.
Also, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 9.078 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 4.784 mln ha (93%), with the average yield of 1.9 t/ha.
Ukraine harvested 3.062 mln tonnes of soybeans throughout the areas of 1.507 mln ha (84%). The average yield of the oilseed totaled 2.03 t/ha.
Agrarians planted winter grains throughout 6.697 mln ha (90%), including winter wheat and triticale – 5.821 mln ha (94%), winter rye – 159 thsd ha (77%), winter barley – 717 thsd ha (67%).
