According to operative data as of October 20, Ukraine harvested 51.17 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 12.816 mln ha, or 86% of the planned areas (excluding the Crimea). The average yield totaled 3.99 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry, on the same date in 2013 Ukraine harvested 46.42 mln tonnes of grains throughout 12.804 mln ha, with the average yield of 3.63 t/ha.

Thus, in 2014 agrarians harvested 14.771 mln tonnes of maize for grain throughout 2.8 mln ha (60%), with the average yield of 5.28 t/ha.

Ukrainian agrarians harvested 181 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 129 thsd ha (96% of the planned areas), with the average yield of 1.39 t/ha.

Ukraine harvested 182 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 95 thsd ha (94%). The average yield totaled 1.92 t/ha.

Also, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 9.156 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 4.826 mln ha (94%), with the average yield of 1.9 t/ha.

Ukraine harvested 3.188 mln tonnes of soybeans throughout the areas of 1.563 mln ha (87%). The average yield of the oilseed totaled 2.04 t/ha.

Agrarians planted winter grains throughout 6.877 mln ha (92%), including winter wheat and triticale – 5.937 mln ha (96%), winter rye – 1619 thsd ha (78%), winter barley – 779 thsd ha (73%).
