In October Russia exported the record volumes of buckwheat

According to the official statistics data, in October 2014 Russia exported nearly 6.7 thsd tonnes of buckwheat, an increase of 43% compared with results of September 2014, which became the new monthly maximum index of buckwheat foreign supply.

During the first three months of the season-2014/15 (August-October), the country exported 15.1 thsd tonnes of the grain, up 2.1 times compared with the same period of 2013/14 MY.

Also, there should be noted a significant change in the geography of foreign supplies of Russian buckwheat in the beginning of the current season. So, if in 2013/14 MY Russia supplied nearly 45% and 36% of the grain volumes in Ukraine and Lithuania respectively, in August-October of 2014/15 MY Latvia (28%), Japan (27%) and China (24%) became the main countries-buyers of Russian buckwheat. During 3 months of the season buckwheat shipments to Ukraine totaled 103 tonnes (1%) only.
