Since the beginning of the current year the transit of Kazakh grains through the territory of Estonia reached the level of 1.4 mln tonnes, announced Toomas Haidaks, Head on Transport Development and Investments Division at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure of Estonia.
According to him, the transshipment of grains from other countries, including Kazakhstan, through the ports of Estonia totaled 20 mln tonnes. Although, the Estonian port capacities may cover even 40 mln tonnes, said T.Haidaks.
In turn, Urve Palo, Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure, added that the main advantage of transit through Estonia is the well-developed infrastructure, technical equipment maintenance, electronic support and lack of corruption.
