The International Monetary Fund lowered its forecast for the economy of Russia in 2015 by 3%, informed the updated forecast of the IMF on the world economic development.

According to the IMF, in 2016 the Russian economy will also decline by 1%. As a reminder, previously in October 2014 the Fund forecasted 0.5% growth of Russia's GDP in 2015, and 1.5% - in 2016.

The new forecast reflects the impact of the sharp fall of petroleum prices and geopolitical tensions at the economy. At the same time, the sharp slowdown of the Russian economy growth and the RUR devaluation significantly weakened the prospects of other CIS countries.
