By the end of the current season the Russian grain carry-over stocks (taking into account the intervention fund) will reach the record level of 17.5-18 mln tonnes, declared Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic marketing department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, on January 28.
As a reminder, to date the record level totals 17.3 mln tonnes, and it was reached in the season-2010/11, when Russia previously imposed the ban on grain exports.
The expert named the customs duties on wheat exports imposed since February 1, as the main reason for formation of such high index in the current MY.
According to the previous estimations, in 2014/15 MY Russia would supply 31-32 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets. But imposition of the customs duties reduced the estimations to 28 mln tonnes, said I.Pavensky.
